From beginning to end we can help you choose all of the finishing touches and the fun extras that will assure your guests have a wonderful and memorable time.
Equipment & Event Rental carries a full line of canopies and tents for any size gathering.  Need tables and chairs?  Not a problem.  We can even help you choose the colors of linens if a theme is in order. All the necessary essential party items are covered and we even offer chaffing dishes, lighting, sound systems and dance floors.  But don’t overlook the really fun rentals that put the extra zip into your party.  When the occasion calls for it, consider adding to your rental one of our popcorn, snow cone, cotton candy and even a frozen daiquiri/margarita machine! How about letting us help you send that special someone splashing into a dunk tank while later you can dance the night away on one of our perfectly placed dance floors?
Picture your guests arriving to the smell of fresh popped popcorn  or cooling off with a piled high snow cone and just imagine the expressions on the little ones faces as they see the cotton candy being magically spun from colorful sugar crystals. We mustn’t forget the adults as they sip on a frozen margarita or pina colada.  Each of these machines has simple instructions, little if no set up time, and is easy to use.
All of our food service machines come to you sanitized and ready for service. With the popcorn machine all that needs to be done is to plug it in and to let it heat up. Add a package of pre measured oil and popcorn and watch the kettle fill with warm buttery popcorn ready to be served in our handy popcorn boxes or scoop it into your own container for the guest to share.
The cotton candy machine is quick to set up and easy to use. With the motor off, place the metal bowl over the head of the machine, run the plastic mesh around the inside of the bowl and fasten it at equal distances with the clips provided.  Place the bubble top over the metal bowl, fill the sugar port half way with one of our flavored sugars and turn the motor on. At this time you only need to turn on the heat switch and watch the cotton candy as it begins to cover the inside of the bowl. Using a cotton candy cone twirl the cotton candy around the paper cone and serve right on the cone or place it in a suitable container and it is ready to be gobbled up by the kiddies as well as the adults.

All of our concession machine rentals come with a handout set of instructions.

How to use a Tiller and selecting the right Tiller for you!

It's time to Till!

Hello, my name is Cody Szychoski here at Equipment & Event Rental. Our staff is very knowledgeable and committed to our customer’s safety and satisfaction with our equipment. We hold weekly rental meetings to train our staff so that we have the best understanding of the equipment that we rent out. We pride ourselves in renting out top of the line equipment, and make sure our customer’s feel confident choosing us as their rental destination.
Today I will be discussing tillers! The importance of tilling is vital for having a healthy garden or lawn. Rototilling your garden sets the surface at an even depth and loosens the soil for easy planting. Rototilling your lawn is also an efficient way of removing weeds or creating a new growing bed. The rotating tines can also break up existing sod and can mix amendments and additives such as fertilizer or compost.
The tillers that we rent out are all Makissic Tillers. Makissic Tillers are best known for professional users and the number one choice for rental stores. The first tiller I will be discussing is our 4 HP Mini Tiller. This is our smallest tiller that we rent out. It’s great for small projects like gardens or little spots in your lawn. This tiller comes with a depth bar that you drop into the ground so that you can adjust the depth of how far down you want to go. As small as this tiller is it will still take you for a ride! This tillers’ max depth is 8” deep. You can adjust width of the tines as well.  The width can go from 12”-18”.
The next tiller I will be talking about is the 6HP Suburban Mid-Tine Tiller. This is our most popular tiller because it handles larger size jobs. This tiller also has a depth bar to adjust the depth of how far down the user would like to go. This tiller, like the 4 HP, has a control throttle and finger tip clutch mounted on the handle for maximum comfort and convenience. This tiller has a 12” tilling depth and a width of 14”-26”.
Our last and biggest tiller that we rent out is our 13 HP Rear-Tine Tiller. This is our biggest and heaviest tiller that we own.  This tiller is absolutely perfect for big areas to till such as your entire yard. This tiller is a rear tine, which means the tines are in the back of the machine than in the middle like other two models that we rent out, which means less strain on your back! It has a drive control as well, so there’s no pushing this tiller around, it pulls you! The tines and the wheel are driven by separate drives, which mean you can drive the machine with-out having the tines engaged.  The rear-tine tiller machine is counter balanced to focus the weight over the wheels, allowing for more control while tilling. This tiller has a 10” tiller depth and a 21” tilling width.
These machines are great in so many ways. Whether you’re re-doing your entire lawn or just doing a small garden, stop by Equipment & Event Rental today! We have the right size tiller for you and we’re always here to give you a helping hand in all your equipment rental needs!

How to use Thatchers, Aerators, and Overseeders

Together we can help you build the perfect lawn!

Hello, my name is Rich Wilson. As a high school graduate I became an electrician and worked in the field for four years. After increasing my skills and knowledge of the field, I then worked as an independent contractor. During this time I have acquired my degree in Public Relations and Advertising. I began working at Equipment & Event Rental a year and a half ago.  I am honored to be the store manager of a company with such dedication to be the best in the industry. We hold weekly rental meetings to discuss new trends in the industry, our equipment, and ways to better serve you to make your project or event picture perfect. The owner, Todd Baumer and I, demand perfection and the members on our team have jumped right on board.  I am dedicated to providing the best service for our customers. Equipment & Event Rental it is not only my job, it is that once in a lifetime event, a wedding, or anything else a customer needs.
Today I am going to be discussing the importance of aerating, dethatching and seeding your lawn. For a healthy lawn, you should perform these maintenance techniques in spring AND in the fall.  Aerating is essential to a beautiful lawn because over time, the soil compacts and your lawn is not getting the oxygen and nutrients it needs to survive.  A core aerator pulls compacted plugs of soil out of your lawn. This allows water and nutrients to reach the roots of your grass. The proper aerating depth is between 2" - 3" in depth.  The results are stronger roots which simply mean a healthier, thicker lawn.
Removing Thatch is essential for an outstanding lawn. For those of you who do not fully understand what thatch is or how to look for it I will gladly explain. Thatch is a layer of roots, grass clippings, and debris that settles on the ground and either slowly decomposes or just accumulates over time. This can primarily be caused by taller grass, lack of removing thatch and/or not aerating. If you see this build up it is time to come pay us a visit. The Thatcher can be thought of as a gas powered rake. The proper thatching depth should not exceed 1/2".  Before you start the process, mow your lawn to about half its normal mowing height. When you get home with the machine adjust the machines height accordingly, but remember, every lawn is different so start at the highest machine height and slowly work your way down to the ideal depth as needed. After dethatching is complete be sure to pick up all debris to ensure a clean complete job. Our lawn vacuums we rent can help make that part of the job a breeze!
Renting an overseeder can be very effective if it is used right. First and foremost, be sure that there is no thatch in your lawn due to the fact that it can greatly affect the seed as it is dropped. The over seeder cuts slits in the lawns and the machine then drops the seed on top of the slits. When you water your yard (very important when seeding!) the water helps move the seed into the slits where they will lodge and grow. The ideal depth when overseeding is between 1/4" to 3/8”. Similar to the Thatcher, it is a good idea to star at the highest machine setting and work your way down to the ideal depth. On the overseeder there is a dial to control seed output which, depending on the seed, varies. The bag should have manufacturer’s recommendations for the proper dial setting but if not, do not panic because all of our machines are equipped with recommendations on them.
Our machines make lawn care an easy do it yourself project equipped with folding handles for easy transportation. So if your lawn is just not looking up to your standards come on in and see us at Equipment & Event Rental and we’ll happily assist you to build the “best lawn in the neighborhood”.
